With KCON LA barely in the review mirror, K-pop fans local to LA have another festival to look forward to in October. 82WORLD, the inaugural fan-focused K-pop festival hosted by hello82, touches down at LA State Historic Park October 17-18. Sunday is all about K-pop powerhouse ATEEZ with P1Harmony, xikers, AMPERS&ONE, and up-and-coming groups hitting the stage on Saturday. With full details yet to be revealed, this all-ages event will be packed with surprises, special events, and memorable performances from the artists.

We put together our top five wishlist items for the festival that we know will be beloved by fans.

Everyone Doing Ateez “BAD” Challenge All the Time

It’s safe to say Ateez’s latest choreography masterpiece has been viral throughout the K-pop world and it’s for good reason. All we can hope for, is to see everyone at 82WORLD doing the visually alluring “BAD” dance throughout the festival, at all times. It would be so fun to see other artists collaborate with Ateez and fans, doing the chest pumping choreography. Fans have a chance to enter to win the “Ateez ‘BAD’ Mega Dance Challenge” now through September 24 by uploading their video on social media and filling out the form. We love watching the Dream Stages each year at KCON LA, and can’t wait to see which Atiny baddies are on stage with Ateez.

Keeho…Being Keeho

P1Harmony’s leader is known for delivering powerhouse vocals and unfiltered commentary during their performances. P1Harmony’s set is going to be high energy with an excited crowd, no doubt about it. But what we really hope to see is Keeho letting loose on the stage, delivering his insane riffs, like in “DUH!” He never stops joking around with fans and his members, often making niche fandom references or telling Soul to be quiet and go back to the main stage. No matter what songs are on the setlist for P1Harmony, Keeho’s antics will surely spice it up.

Surprise Collaborations

No, we don’t just mean a couple backstage TikTok videos performing each others’ most recent title tracks. We would love to see end-of-year Korean broadcast program level collaboration stages on the main stage. It would be so cool to see Ateez team up with their “KQ little brothers” xikers to perform an Ateez hit - “Bouncy” maybe?

FREE STUFF! Album and Merch Giveaways

KCON LA’s Olive Young Festa this year resulted in arguably the biggest freebie hauls ever, with many fans having to check another suitcase on their return flights home. While 82WORLD is a shorter event, we still would love to see album and merch giveaways, giving fans a chance to win items from their favorite groups. We would love to see some brand activations and pop ups to help fans beat the heat - maybe drink samples from Chi Forest or Milkis? With a fully outdoor festival, some shaded booth areas where fans can escape the beating sun would be a great opportunity to not only land some freebies but also minimize sunburn.

Extended Stage and Big Screens for Maximum Viewing

With little revealed about the layout of the stage (stages?) for 82WORLD, fans are left wondering what it will be like to physically watch the performances from the different artists each day. With so many popular artists with large Western fan bases, we hope the organizers plan to have large screens where fans can see the performances even from further back or while waiting in line for merch. An extended stage or one with a different shape would help more fans be able to interact with their biases up close, something very important for fans who pay for a VIP viewing area. We hope that 82WORLD lives up to its fan-focused theme and gives fan a memorable experience that feels worth the ticket price.
