BE:FIRST Spends 'Blissful' Evening with LA Fans on 'Who is -BE:FIRST-' World Tour

On April 22nd, The Novo in Los Angeles was home to J-Pop/Hip-Hop group BE:FIRST. Kicking off their ‘Who is -BE:FIRST-‘ World Tour in LA, BE:FIRST also stopped in San Francisco before heading back overseas for performances throughout Asia and Europe. BE:FIRST will return to the states in early June to visit cities, New York, Philadelphia, D.C., Chicago and Honolulu.
BE:FIRST members SOTA (ソウタ), SHUNTO (シュント), MANATO (マナト), RYUHEI (リュウヘイ), JUNON (ジュノン), RYOKI (リョウキ) and LEO (レオ) filled the night with their explosive energy, captivating dance breaks and high powered rap- making their first performance of the tour one to remember.
As red, blue and green strobe lights flickered through the theatre, the seven members dove straight into “Mainstream,” “Spacecraft” and “Brave Generation.” Known for their dancing, BE:FIRST impressed with numbers that showcased the group's charisma, synchronization and stamina. They performed number after number with little to no stopping while integrating many different styles and genres into their performance.
The group brought hints of 90's hip hop sound and dance with "Boom Boom Back,” and stepping, a dance form originated from and popular within black communities in which dancers use footsteps and claps to create rhythmic sounds, highlighting their bodies as instruments, with number "Milli-Billi." “Scream” brought along a melting pot of genres, blending rock and rap alongside SHUNTO and RYOKI's scream style vocals.
Bright pop track “Sailing” began to bring the night to close, fans waving their hands high in the air to the number. Ending with feel good and uplifting track "Blissful," BE:FIRST closed out the night encouraging fans to dance along to the song while the members playfully danced on stage and interacted with BESTY, fandom.
Expanding onto the global stage, their performance was engaging, bringing their spirited dance numbers to live audiences. Even though sometimes wavering vocally, the members continued to perform each track live, an impressive feat for any dance heavy group. BE:FIRST shined within their ability to execute synchronized and vigorous dances, their energy radiating through each performance. For any BESTY or new fan in attendance, they are no longer needing to ask, “Who is BE:FIRST?” as their first world tour served as a bold introduction to the group.
