Boundary-pushing originals CORTIS made a standout Lollapalooza debut on Sunday, August 1, taking over the T-Mobile stage with a high-impact set joined by a live DJ. Less than a year after debuting, the five-member group introduced festival audiences to their signature blend of raw energy, live performance, and choreography, while debuting “MOTION (feat. Juicy J)” live alongside the hip-hop legend for the very first time.
Due to unfavorable weather forecasts and steady rain throughout the day, the festival delayed gate openings until shortly before CORTIS’s performance. Despite the conditions, fans rushed toward the stage as soon as the gates opened. By the time MARTIN, JAMES, JUHOON, SEONGHYEON, and KEONHO took the stage, the crowd had already reached a fever pitch, chanting the group’s name.
As anticipation built, CORTIS made their entrance from backstage with their hit single “GO!,” immediately sending the crowd into a roar and setting the tone for what followed. The crowd sang along at full volume, carrying that energy into “What You Want,” “REDRED,” and “ACAI.” These fan-favorite tracks highlighted the group’s electrifying performance style and instinct for creating high-impact live moments, offering a sharp introduction for new listeners while deepening the connection with existing fans. Fueled by headbanging choreography, commanding stage presence, and uncompromising live vocals, CORTIS turned the performance into an immersive festival experience that kept the audience engaged from start to finish.
Mid-set, the performance was elevated by a surprise appearance from hip-hop legend Juicy J. Joining CORTIS on stage, the artists delivered the first live performance of their newly released digital single “MOTION (feat. Juicy J),” just two days after its release. The collaboration reflects a creative relationship that began prior to the group’s debut and developed into a hands-on partnership. Their effortless onstage chemistry made the collaboration feel right at home at Lollapalooza. On stage, MARTIN even referred to Juicy J as a “big brother,” a nod to one of his longtime musical influences. Juicy J, in turn, wrapped his arms around the members, highlighting the mutual respect and friendship that had grown between the artists over time.
The set briefly eased into a smoother groove with “JoyRide,” before building back up with “Mention Me,” featured on the GOAT soundtrack, which sent the crowd into another wave of excitement. “YOUNGCREATORCREW” pushed the set into overdrive, underscoring the group’s range and command of the stage. After a brief reset with “Wassup,” CORTIS launched into “TNT,” driving the performance toward its final stretch.
The closing sequence carried that momentum forward, culminating in “FaSHioN,” where fans responded in unison—chanting, dancing, and matching the group’s energy through the final moments. The set ended on a high, leaving a sustained impression well beyond the final beat. From start to finish, that intensity never let up. With raw live vocals at the forefront and relentless, high-energy execution throughout, CORTIS commanded the stage with a confident, unfiltered presence, demonstrating that their impact extends far beyond the studio.

That same excitement carried into the festival grounds, where approximately 50,000 attendees gathered at the T-Mobile Stage for CORTIS’s performance. Despite a delayed gate opening, fans quickly filled the area ahead of the group's 3:40 PM set, highlighting the remarkable demand for their Lollapalooza debut.
The enthusiasm had already been building the night before, when CORTIS headlined a sold-out show at House of Blues Chicago. Fans packed the venue wall-to-wall, chanting every lyric and moving in unison, offering an early glimpse of the excitement that would carry into Lollapalooza the following day.
Reflecting on the milestone, CORTIS shared, “Performing at Lollapalooza Chicago has been a dream of ours since we were young, so being able to experience this moment was truly special. While working on GREENGREEN, we imagined the kind of energy we hoped to create on stage, and seeing that vision come to life with fans made this experience even more meaningful.”
Following a breakout year that included a No. 3 debut on the Billboard 200, recognition on Billboard’s 21 Under 21 list, and now their Lollapalooza Chicago debut, CORTIS head into the sold-out North American leg of their first tour ‘2026 CORTIS TOUR IN NORTH AMERICA,’ beginning August 4 in Toronto, with momentum continuing to build. Additional stops include New York, Atlanta, Irving, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. For more information, visit ibighit.com/ko/cortis/tour.
About CORTIS:
CORTIS—consisting of MARTIN, JAMES, JUHOON, SEONGHYEON, and KEONHO—have quickly emerged as a breakout global act under BIGHIT MUSIC since their debut in August 2025. The name CORTIS is an unconventional mix of six letters drawn from the phrase “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” reflecting their determination to think beyond the boundaries defined by the world. True to this ethos, the group has established itself as self-driven creatives who take an active role across every aspect of their artistry. Their 1st EP COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES marked the beginning of their rapid rise. In 2026, they became the first K-pop act to headline the Opening Night of the NBA Crossover Concert Series during NBA All-Star Weekend. The momentum continued with their 2nd EP GREENGREEN, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, up 12 spots from their previous release. Following their Lollapalooza debut as the only K-pop boy group on the lineup, CORTIS were selected for Billboard’s 21 Under 21 Class of 2026, spotlighting their role as boundary-pushing originals. CORTIS are set to embark on their first North American tour, ‘PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN.’
