DxS (SEVENTEEN), comprising SEVENTEEN’s vocal powerhouses DK and SEUNGKWAN, released their 1st Mini Album Serenade today, tenderly comforting the hearts of listeners with gentle warmth of love.

Serenade traces the emotional arc of a relationship, from meeting to parting, through DK and SEUNGKWAN’s emotional storytelling. Centered on the theme of ordinary love, the album weaves a story that feels deeply relatable, where everyone can find pieces of themselves.

The lead single “Blue” expresses “love moving at different paces,” intertwining DxS’ expressive vocals with a simply resonant piano sound and grand orchestration. It unravels the complex emotions that arise when two lovers find their rhythms and depths of love slipping out of sync, causing them to drift apart.

As a powerful visual translation of the song’s heartfelt theme, a 7-minute cinematic music video was unveiled alongside the release, starring globally recognized actors Yoo-mi Lee and Steve Sanghyun Noh. The story centers on the diverging emotional paths of two lovers: a man, burdened by wounds too deep to overcome, and a woman who loves him yet gradually grows weary, leaving viewers with a lasting sense of heartache.

Beyond the lead single, the album is filled with songs that follow the trajectory of love. DK and SEUNGKWAN each showcase a solo track—“Rockstar (DK Solo),” delivering a message of gratitude to the precious people around and “Dream Serenade (SEUNGKWAN Solo),” exploring a mature closure reached through truly understanding one another. The duo both participated in writing and composing each of their solo tracks, while both appear as lyricists on the final track, imbuing the album with sincerity. They also explore diverse vocal deliveries, through tracks including the R&B pop track “Guilty Pleasure” that portrays a dangerous yet irresistible curiosity; “Silence,” a pop ballad that captures an unavoidable breakup and the emptiness that follows; and the closing pop rock track “Prelude of love,” presenting a new beginning at the end of the journey.

The duo have long demonstrated remarkable vocal prowess through group releases, solo tracks, soundtracks, and a wide range of cover performances. With this release, they step further into their own artistic identity, inviting listeners into a harmony of their complementary timbres, refined technique, powerful delivery, and rich expressiveness. An epilogue version of the music video is slated for release on January 19, further heightening anticipation among global audiences.
