Back in April, the South Korean band, orange flavored cigarettes, dropped cici—a quiet little melody that fluttered in like the first breeze of spring. Now that spring’s packing up its pastel skies, “cici” lingers like the scent of flowers clinging to your sleeves.

The release came with something a little different — a heartfelt note from the band.. “It’s our first time greeting you like this, so it’s exciting and also a little embarrassing,” they wrote. “Maybe it’s because of the weather — it feels like spring has come to our hearts too… It’s a spring that barely woke after breaking through winter, but it seems there’s still frost lying between us here and there.” That’s where “cici” steps in. It’s their way of announcing that thaw, softly but with meaning: “Let’s, no matter what, always live with love.”

The band calls “cici” a stop along the way to their upcoming full-length album. “We tried to strip some of the emotion back this time—though we’re not sure we succeeded—haha,” they told MIXTAPE 317.

The song’s synth-rich, love-soaked that circles back to the band’s early instincts—simple, emotional, and quietly dazzling.

We found ourselves thinking a bit more simply, they said, almost going back to that initial feeling. Maybe the only clear difference is that our synth sounds have gotten a little richer.

You can hear that shift in every note. Lyrics like “Oh my love, Cecilia / come dance with me, though it may seem like a whirl” pull you right into that glowing, nostalgic headspace — like slow-dancing barefoot in your kitchen while the sky outside turns pink.

Now a five-member band (with new addition dida joining the crew), orange flavored cigarettes are in a reflective mood. “It feels like stopping by our childhood home for a bit—haha,” they added. They recently played their first live show with the new lineup and are gearing up to hit the stage again next at Beautiful Mint Life 2025 in Seoul.

As for the full album? “It’s hard to say whether it’ll drop this year or next—probably this year!” they said (fingers crossed). But one thing’s certain: it’ll be about love. “Carefully, sometimes. Boldly, other times,” they teased.

We’re taking time to observe and explore what feels most valuable to us, from different angles.”

If “cici” was their soft hello to spring, the album might just be the full bloom. Something patient. Something tender. Something quietly radiant.

It was such a fun experience to connect with you through this interview—we’d love for chances like this to come around more often,” they added.

"Thanks for having us.

Enjoy your life. xoxo"
