On December 14th HOHYUN opened the night in Los Angeles with emotionally charged tracks "Faded" and "I Can't Escape the Rain," even dedicating the latter to over thinkers and INFPs. HOHYUN has been a strong advocate for battling mental health, highlighting the importance of seeking help and using his own experiences to shape his music. His latest release petrichor, a word for defining the smell of rain, encapsulates the indie R&B artist's experience navigating and documenting his mental health journey.

Speaking openly of the impact his mental health has had, he introduces his next track "Tomorrow," which came from experiencing some of the toughest times throughout his life. Despite the singer's serious nature of lyrics and laid back vibe, he effortlessly commands the stage with his upbeat energy. He interacted with fans, even using their phones to capture videos on stage before instructing them to sing along to powerful "FLAWED," fans eagerly chanted the lyrics right back to the singer. Ending with "Sunset Boulevard," HOHYUN took the audience for a ride on Splash Mountain as he vigorously baptized the crowd to the 2022 favorite.

Headliner Sarah Kang brought her own emotional journey to the stage, her latest album before & after chronicles the changes in her life after becoming a mom - describing the album as "wanting to remember what it was like before I was a mom, but also wanted to celebrate all the joyful things I have now."

Sarah sprinkled her LA set with many surprise guests, Sam Ock hopped on stage dressed as a winter snowman to join Sarah in singing some Christmas tunes, while Luke Chaing joined for their rendition of "Bittersweet." HOHYUN even made an appearance for their duet "loml," the pair sharing a mic center stage. After a swelling piano solo by pianist Taka, Sarah ended the night with slow and serene encore track "Summer Is for Falling in Love" before hitting bright and bubbly "Cheeze" to close out the show.

The crowd was noticeably filled with couples and close friends, many who stayed tightly huddled next to each other, several couples even slow dancing and embracing throughout the night. Often paired with her guitar, Sarah and her band - Mario on guitar, Taka on keys, Kurt on drums and her producer Pat on bass - created a cozy and intimate space filled with nostalgic longing.

Both artists' music, reflective of their lived experiences as they navigate through the different transitions of their life and the emotional impact that's left on them, provided a night of intimacy and vulnerability among the often chaotic and busy LA city.
