Setting off from South Korea to the United States on his TAPE: RE LOAD Tour, JAY B, leader of famous k-pop group GOT7, geared up to meet his international fans as a solo performer for the first time. While GOT7 has made multiple trips to the U.S. to perform at venues such as The Kia Forum, it was time for Jay B to spread his wings and express a diverse soundtrack he personally produced.

Starting in California, JAY B enchanted his fans, also endearingly known as Ahgase, by filling The Warfield Theater on June 6th in San Francisco with his unique beats. After fulfilling fans dreams he continued on to his second stop of the journey which was in our beautifully diverse city of Los Angeles, a popular stop for every artist alike and a city he is well acquainted with considering he’s performed at The Crypto Arena twice with GOT7.
The night started off at The Avalon Hollywood with singer-songwriter Tabber performing smooth and sweet melodies similar to JAY B’s style, a perfect opener to get the crowd ready. He started off with “Chi-Ka” a song he wrote, composed, and produced. The fans were thrilled with this choice and sang along while Tabber immersed himself into his performance to deliver a memorable set.

The stage darkened as Tabber made his exit, the air became palpable with excitement and filled with hurried conversations as the anticipation built. Light sticks turned on, illuminating the venue with the classic green bird fondly known as the “Ahgabong,” GOT7’s official light stick. Thumbs hit record as the darkness brightened and a wave of cheers washed over Jay B as he strode over to the mic stand. Wearing a simple combination of jean jacket and jeans, he started his explosive set with “Present”, a special CD only track off his 2024 first full length album, Archive 1:[Road Runner]. He performed back-to-back songs, hurdling into "B.T.W" and "Fame" off 2021 EP SOMO:FUME, followed by other treasured tracks "Livin," Fountain of Youth" off 2022 EP Be Yourself, another song he helped compose and one of my personal favorites. Ahgase eagerly chanted the lyrics while waving their ahgabongs, soaking in the presence of Lim Jae Beom or as he is better known as - JAY B.
After performing a few fan favorites he did a quick pause and noted how hot it was inside the venue. Sweeping his hair back with one hand while placing a cowboy hat on his head with the other, JAY B amped up the air to an even hotter degree that had nothing to do with the AC, charging into “The Way We Are.” A simple change of pace that made the hearts of the crowd pump with excitement as they watched their artist get down to his own music.

Throughout the night JAY B serenaded Ahgase with a talent he has been honing for years. The leader of GOT7, known for his strong vocals, is also excitingly proficient in dancing which he exhibited throughout the night by performing alluring body rolls and dynamic choreography alongside his back-up dancers. No wonder he had a venue full of screaming fans, as a man of many talents he confidently shows them all with his charismatic performances!
To top it all off the crowd whispered with a sighting of a fellow GOT7 member and JAY B confirmed this by introducing Mark Tuan, an LA native who attended the concert in support of his teammate! Fans were ecstatic to see the camaraderie between the members and it made the night even more special for them.

A seductive performance of “Cloud Nine” left many fans hoarse from screaming as the artist danced strategically to the beat with soft, lilting lyrics pouring from his lips such as “I’ll have you flying in the sky high, I want to touch you, just let me love you.” The lyrics were as seductive as the singer/dancer himself. He eased into the next song “Holyday” before exiting the stage to prepare for the encore.
When JAY B joined the stage again with a simple white shirt and jeans he sang remixes of both solo songs and GOT7 songs, as a homage to his roots. To rock the house one more time, one of the last few tracks was “Go Higher”, a GOT7 track that is loaded with energy and gets voices screaming and bodies jumping. To finish off a perfect evening of entertainment, JAY B sang “Before the Full Moon Rises,” another familiar tune from GOT7.
Ahgase left the venue that night with a heart full of memories and JAY B’s voice echoing in their heads, some even tucking confetti into their pockets to commemorate the event.

JAY B continued his tour the very next day to Houston on June 9th with additional shows in Atlanta, Chicago, and finally finishing up in Washington D.C. on June 13th. The show was full of a range of emotions from energetic beats to soft serenades that was unique to JAY B himself. We hope to see him return as either a soloist or with the rest of his group, GOT7. Either way US Ahgase will be eagerly waiting for his return!
