| Wang brought the highs and lows of his journey with MAGICMAN 2, here are a few of ours from his performance at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.

Currently on his second solo world tour, MAGICMAN 2, Kpop idol Jackson Wang brought his emotional transformation to a live audience. MAGICMAN 2, released in 2025, depicts Jackson’s journey of self discovery and growth, offering an intimate look into the artist’s personal story and evolution. How to separate the person from his idol persona, betrayal, and rediscovery are all themes Jackson depicts within his latest release.
His 2026 ten-stop, and growing, world tour is broken down into four parts as the artist takes us through the highs and lows of uncovering himself. Take a look through some of Jackson’s stand out moments while performing at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.

Highs
1. Ascension
Starting the night off strong, Jackson’s intro was one to remember. Once the lights came up, his dancers flooded the stage only to be followed by Jackson ascending from an opening in the floor. As he continued to be lifted through the air, “High Alone” began and Jackson went on to perform the number mid air. Jackson, usually performing in dramatic black streaked eye makeup and bright contacts, appeared on stage with only one eye representing his performer image, his style and makeup a reflection of him shedding his Magic Man persona to reveal himself.

2. Making “Contact”
“Will I be picked?” enters the mind of all Jackson Wang fans when stepping into the venue for the night. Picked for what you might ask? A notable and highly anticipated moment of each Jackson Wang performance is when he selects fans to join him on stage as he serenades them. Performing “Shadows on The Wall” and “Contact” directly for them, allowing fans to hug him and often guiding their hands down his washboard abs; even those in the audience can feel the tension.
3. Emotional Shift
After reappearing on stage in a straight jacket styled ensemble, Jackson performed an emotional part two of his concert. Starting with “Not For Me” Jackson knelt alone while singing lyrics ”What the fuck am I doing / A puppet on strings / I stay running / Getting ahead of nothing / Wonder / Who I'm becoming / Who should I be?” The audience took in each lyric quietly while more and more flashlights appeared waving through the crowd. Wang went on to perform “Blue” and “Dopamine” off his first full length album MAGICMAN, along with “Everything” and “Long Gone,” off MAGICMAN 2.

4. Jackson Wang party
No it isn’t just fan fiction, notoriously known for throwing parties that fans dream of entering one day, performances like “BUCK” and “Let Loose” offer a small glimpse into what that reality may be. Wearing face masks and hats, dancers began to appear on stage, performing a hip hop laced number before revealing that Jackson was among the crew the entire time. With fire flowing from all corners of the stage, Jackson sang “Let me show you how to dance,” while engaging in the bold and strong choreography.
4. Finding Magic
A VCR showcasing Jackson’s path to transformation and self reflection began to play. Focusing on rediscovering himself he asks,“Am I the Jackson Wang people know of, or am I me?.” Stepping away from Jackson as an artist, he looks back on deciding to create MAGICMAN 2 as himself. Going back to the beginning, Jackson finds peace and meaning within his family. The VCR highlights his parents in a beautiful photo montage before heading into “Dear:” a recording of a voicemail left by Jackson’s mom. He stood on stage emotionally listening to the voicemail before beginning “Sophie Ricky.” Reassuring fans “I’m fucking happy,” Jackson ends the night with final MAGICMAN 2 album track “Made Me A Man.”

Along with his transformation, Jackson has recently curated his own team of collaborators, dancers, and supporters creating his own network. Jackson spent the night reflecting on the support from his team and his fans, expressing his gratitude “at some point in my life you guys gave me a shot, you gave me a chance.” Apparently, not only is this an emotional experience for those in the audience who love the idol but also a renewal of acceptance of love for Jackson himself. Shedding his previous skin to become who is today, Jackson begins to reveal his true identity, receiving praise and love from those around him, all excited to support him on his continued journey.
Lows
1. Chatty Cathy
Not related to anything Jackson did or could do, but to the people directly behind me who talked through the whole show, I mean the WHOLE SHOW, you kinda suck.
2. Where’s the merch?
Something notably missing from every area of the Forum was merch. For those who haven’t been to the Forum, the arena is one large circle that you can walk around in its entirety. Now, while I didn’t scale every inch, I did make my way through at least half the arena, both the outside terrace and inside the halls and saw not one merch table. As an avid browser, not really a buyer, I was excited to still peek at what there was to offer. Upon further investigation, I did find out merch was available but sold out rather quickly, a lot of fans saying that by the time doors opened it was all gone already. This left many fans frustrated at not being able to support their idol and bring home a souvenir. One of the odd things is I didn’t even see many people wearing any merch, so my question is - where did it all go?
MAGICMAN 2 will continue on in Brooklyn and Toronto before heading off to Latin America at the end of April. Tickets are available at Live Nation.
