Everything We Hope to See at All Things Go DC

| It’s almost time! With a little over two weeks left, the East Coast festival is sure to bring some unforgettable moments to Merriweather Post Pavilion

With a little over two weeks left before All Things Go (both NYC and DC taking place on the same weekend), and new additions to the lineup, the countdown is officially on. Known for iconic sets and temperamental weather, the East Coast festival brings nostalgic and newer talent to the stages in NYC and DC each September. As ticket prices continue to rise at every live music event, fans expect more unique experiences than ever - hoping for special appearances, deep cut tracks, and FOMO-inducing moments.
The Beaches Set to Change Our Lives
Sure, it’s overly memed, but nothing will top seeing The Beaches live at this festival. While opening for Louis Tomlinson during the North American leg of his tour this summer, the band has been performing the iconic “Edge of the Earth” as part of their setlist. Deeper cuts we would love to see at All Things Go would have to be “Cigarette,” “Snake Tongue,” and “T-shirt.” No matter what they perform on that stage, the set will change your life (trust us.)
MUNA Dance Party
We all know MUNA’s set on Saturday is going to be packed. With the band filling in two years ago in DC and multiple stops on tour in the DMV, the local fans will be showing up and showing out. What better place to meet your next toxic situationship than the GA pit while scream singing along with everyone’s favorite rock stars? This one doesn’t even really need to be on our list, rushing to this set is a no-brainer. That “A Thousand Miles” cover in 2024 was a moment to remember.
“Midnight Sun” Acoustic Version
Summer isn’t over yet until the queen of the season has deemed it so, as Zara Larsson frequently reminds us on TikTok. While All Things Go technically takes place in autumn, we all know it’s going to be sweltering out there and probably muggy as hell. We would love to see Larsson deliver her show-stopping hits she’s been performing all over the world this year but also see something new and fresh for the intimate setting of All Things Go. A slowed down, acoustic version of “Midnight Sun” would fit the bill, carrying the mood of the intro she has been delivering at her festival sets. It would also be iconic to see some of the other headliners on the stage dancing to the track of the summer - maybe Rebecca Black and Katie Gavin in sparkly outfits?
A New Earworm from Jensen McRae
We know it’s wishful thinking, but hey, that’s what wishlists are for, right? Sure, we would settle for a super stripped back, sing-along version of “Massachusetts” as the sun sets and everyone's sobbing in each others’ arms on the lawn. But would really make All Things Go truly memorable is a brand new track, or even just a teaser of one, from songwriting prodigy Jensen McRae. The viral artist released three new tracks in May, including “Taboo”, which has been on repeat. She’s on fire, currently on a headlining tour that has taken her through the US and Canada, as well as supporting Brandi Carlile on some of her tour dates. Speaking of Brandi, we wouldn’t say no to a live rendition of “God Has a Hitman” from the deluxe version of I Don’t Know How But They Found Me since both are on the lineup in DC on Sunday.
New Favorites
One of the best parts of a music and arts festival is getting a chance to hear new-to-you artists live. Live music is where artists thrive, feed off the energy of the crowd, and hone their craft of immersive performance. Whether it’s seeing the iconic Underscores (newly added to the lineup) or hearing Natalie Jinju’s newest single “just my luck” live for the first time, All Things Go is the perfect place to discover new artists. And honestly, we can’t wait.
Tickets are still available for the weekend - with multiple options to make the most of seeing your favorite artists on each day’s lineup. All Things Go is always more than just the music with activations from brands and non-profit organizations throughout the festival grounds. In the event that rain is in the forecast (anyone know a good Etsy witch?) just make sure you have some rain boots for that muddy hill in lawn seating.
