South Korean vocalist Paul Kim is back with his first all-English track, “Love Me Hard,” giving an opportunity for international fans to connect with him through his new single. Since his 2014 debut, Kim has established himself as one of South Korea’s most successful ballad performers with his extensive ballad and original soundtrack (OST) discography.

Known for his emotionally resonant songwriting and expressive vocals, he has delivered a string of major hits, including “Rain,” “Me After You” and “Traffic Light.” His enduring connection with listeners is reflected in the extraordinary longevity of his music: according to South Korea’s leading streaming platform, Melon, his signature ballad “Every Day, Every Moment” has been added to playlists approximately 3.93 million times by 2.13 million users, making it the platform’s most frequently added song in its 20-year retrospective. The track also remained on Melon’s annual Top 100 chart for seven consecutive years following its release in 2018.

“Love Me Hard” is an upbeat track with a breezy chorus with vintage harmonies echoing against the backdrop of a funky synth beat. The song is accompanied by a music video starring Kim, also released on October 30.

“What keeps holding me back? Love me hard,” Kim repeats throughout the song, singing of an intoxicating love he wants to dive into. The song is told from the perspective of a hopeless romantic who is begging for the object of their affection to give in and fall completely.

Kim first performed the track live at Los Angeles’ Chimac Fest in August and gave international audiences an opportunity to connect with the emotional depth and distinctive storytelling that have made him a defining voice in South Korea’s contemporary music scene.

Kim has had a busy couple years, meeting audiences through touring within Korea and Japan with his 10th anniversary album Sincerely yours.
