The 90’s are calling and the iconic era is materializing in the form of P1Harmony’s eighth mini album, named for the title track “DUH!” Released on May 8, this album continues P1Harmony’s stellar track record of releasing diverse and upbeat sounds in six new songs that are perfect to blast at the first pool parties of the summer.

The title track, “DUH!” kicks off the album with nostalgic beats and a funky vibe that will have you dancing in your car, kitchen, or at your desk at work (don’t worry, we won’t tell your boss). The members show off their rapping skills throughout, with addicting pre-chorus melodies of “'Cause I got it like that, oh, I got it like that, yeah.” The song is confident and cheeky, with a fun, action-packed music video to match. Set against a vibrant city backdrop, the music video has everything from exploding cars to high energy choreography to a goat floating from the sky via balloons.

“Pretty Boy” has a smooth and rhythmic vibe, bringing a different side of nostalgia in the second track on the album. With lyrics like “Pretty girls like pretty boys like me,” the artists reclaim the word for K-pop idols who are often described in such a way that can sound more like a criticism than a compliment. Through this song, the group takes ownership of the term and embraces their prettiness with confidence. This is admirable to see in an industry where following the status quo is not only expected, but often demanded by investors and fans.
“Over and Over” feels like quintessential P1Harmony with a fanchant-worthy chorus accented with melodic harmonies and vocals. This song was made to be sung at the top of fans’ lungs, lightsticks bouncing in beat with the music in a packed theater.

The album has had the group raking in the accomplishments as well as praise from fans. DUH! surpassed an impressive 400,000 in sales, breaking their previous record for first-week sales during previous album releases. The group also won first place on two Korean entertainment broadcasts “Show Champion” and “Music Bank”, bringing electric stages of their title track to both music shows.
Coming off this album packed with skilled vocals and rapping, P1Harmony recently announced a world tour, kicking off in August in Seoul and reuniting with American P1ece in late September. Fans of the group can also look forward to seeing them perform live at KCON LA again this year, hitting both the Artist Stage inside the convention hall and the Mcountdown Stage at Crypto.com Arena.
